A Texas man in jail for beating and sexually assaulting three children was assaulted fifteen times by three other inmates after they saw his trial on the news.

After reviewing the video of the incident, Wichita County Sheriff David Duke stated that Michael George Corey, Jr. was attacked on Wednesday. According to the sheriff, it happened shortly after Corey’s trial made headlines.

When the attack, which lasted about a minute, occurred, he was being returned to a section of the jail housing suspects accused of the most serious offenses.

Corey, 36, has been in prison for three and a half years after being arrested in February 2018 on 45 counts of sex crimes against a boy and two girls, ages eight, ten, and eleven.

He is being held in jail on a $675,000 bond.

Prior to that, in 2016, he was sentenced to ten years in prison on three counts of child abuse. The same children are involved in both cases.

According to Wichita Falls station KFDX, in the first case, he allegedly forced the kids to bend over and take up to 90’licks’ from a paddle with zip ties tied around it while his foster parents looked on. The foster parents’ charges were later dropped.

According to an affidavit in the latest case, he also forced the children to perform sex acts on each other, and they did everything he told them to because their beatings would be more severe if they didn’t, according to KFDX.

The three siblings, two girls and a boy, said they would do everything Corey said because the beatings would be more severe if they didn’t.

A counselor stated that one girl reported abuse two or three times per week over a three-year period, and all three children displayed symptoms of post-traumatic stress syndrome.

The girl claimed she had been physically and sexually assaulted over 20 times, and she had witnessed her brother being sexually abused several times.

The boy told the counsellor that Corey hit him in the head and that he had been physically abused several times, but he refused to talk about being sexually abused.

Police said they discovered a laptop on which the children claimed Corey was watching porn while abusing them. Police also discovered video, though it’s unclear what it shows.

Corey faces 45 counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child, 12 counts of employing, inducing, or authorising a child to engage in sexual performance, 10 counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, five counts of indecency with a child by exposure, and three counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14.

The abuse was discovered after staff at the eight-year-school old’s reported it to police. When police arrived at their mobile home in the 1100 block of Hawthorne, they discovered the other children’s abuse.

According to USA Today, police discovered a wooden paddle with the words ‘Act Right’ written in black lettering at the house.

The 10-year-old girl told authorities that Corey would make her bend over and touch some bricks in a front yard of a house.

He didn’t always give her a chance, she claimed, and would just keep hitting whatever part of her body he could reach while she was on the ground.

The foster parent, Tammy Lynn Vaughn, allegedly sat next to her on the couch to count the number of slaps.

According to USA Today, she told police in 2016 that she didn’t have a “reasonable explanation” for why she didn’t report the abuse.

The day after he was assaulted on Wednesday, court officials noticed Corey with a bruise and a black eye.

According to KFDX, Sheriff Duke stated that five jail officers intervened in less than a minute to stop the beating. Charges will be brought against the three inmates.web
